Am I the only one who really doesn't like Batman's new suit? He looks like a robot.

So, it's like the plot of Dark Knight Rises but in reverse?

I was pretty much born in a batsuit so yeah, I'm in.

That said, I can't deny the fatigue I felt watching this. It's not the graphics or the mechanics, I'm just feeling unexcited by the aesthetic/narrative batman mythos at work here. Not really into all this armored suit stuff.

Man...can stop watching this thing...looks so amazing. Cant wait to explore Gotham and I bet that scarecrow battle is gonna be a brain melter!

Have I ever said I loved the art direction in these? Because I do. So much.

Hey, this game looks pretty good, graphically. I should really go back and play the other ones.

I'm completely ok with waiting for this. They learned not to rush these games with Arkham Origins which took 3 months after release to get to a finished state. Also that's definitely Scarecrow, they've been setting up his return since City with the secret boat that had a ton of fear gas on it.

Looks kind of cool.

I'll enjoy this. Though I should finish Origins and that City DLC first.

I really hope the Joker is not in this at all. Time to let him go. If they find some way to bring him back I'll be rather disappointed, and the "play as Harley Quinn" thing at the end doesn't bode well.

Fucking Giant Bomb ruined these goddamn trailers for me. Just seem lazy now.

Arkham Origins was a definite letdown (couldn't even finish it), but I'll probably give this a shot once I have myself a PS4. Maybe next year.

I like it. I think it looks like a happy medium between suit and and full-on power armor. I'm not the biggest Batman fan(the whole not killing really annoys me), but the fact someone with his resources took on superhumans wearing nothing but tights always bugged me.

The Batmobile driving on the tunnel walls is pretty cool, though it also reminds of the Batmobile driving across the sides of buildings in the Joel Schumacher Batman films.

Yes, city even has quite a number of fun little teases to what will be taking place in this game.

Cinematic-y! I trust the Rocksteady guys to make this kick ass, even that brief shot of the Batmobile in action looked exciting. This would get me to buy into the new consoles along with a check or money order from the GB community that would allow me to purchase said console.

I agree. The Arkham Asylum Batman wore a suit - key word here is suit, not power armor. The entire appeal of Batman was that he didn't wear armor, and fought against overwhelming odds using smarts and cunning. This is starting to look like Iron Man lent him a few of his spares. I already thought the outfit was a bit bulky in City, but they just took it to another level.

As most trilogies it just seems like instead of making the game smarter, they're making it bigger. More villains, more explosions, more gadgets. I really loved Asylum and it seems like the series is progressively moving away from that. As much as I enjoy open world games, this franchise really didn't have to go that way to remain interesting.

@charlee_coco: Yes, agreed for sure. But you're talking about the definition of a gameplay trailer. I was talking about what people want to see that gives them a great impression about how the game plays. After seeing this, I still have almost no idea how it will actually look like playing it.

@zevvion: I understand that completely, but even he admits that "gameplay trailer" is basically a misnomer.

In other words we all basically know what a gameplay trailer is at this point. We all know what a cinematic trailer is, we all know what cam footage is, what a video walkthrough is, what a stage demo is, etc, etc.

Our minds leap to obvious conclusion of "oh we're going to see uninterrupted of combat, movement, etc" but that's almost never the case and that type of footage is never really released as a "trailer" but instead a walkthrough or demo.

We basically got to the point that we now know better about what a "gameplay trailer" actually is and/or isn't.

And what do they expect when you title a video Walkthough, Stage Demo, etc? There has to be some sort of naming convention to separate things.

Does Giant Bomb need to start tagging all their Quick Looks with the word gameplay? The type of thing you're arguing for doesn't really exist anymore when it comes to trailers. Nearly every non pre-rendered trailer is done exactly like this one.

People who want to see how the game actually plays should be smart enough not to trust a trailer that can be edited. Not to mention there are so many more avenues now like Quick Looks, Lets Plays, Twitch streams, etc, etc, that offer exactly that service.

There is a difference between 'ingame footage', 'gameplay' and 'this is what you see when you actually play the game'. Technically this is a gameplay trailer, but when gamers are asking for gameplay, then almost always refer to the last category I mentioned.

There are 4 seconds of that in this 2:16 trailer. If I was able to play the game and you could watch me playing it for 2:16, you'd be looking at something completely different for 2 minutes and 12 seconds than what you saw here.

That is probably his point.
