That's what I figured, but if they are part of the family, I think they could at least communicate for an update during the Whiskey Media Happy Hour, or a call-in to the live show, etc. Not a big deal...I'm not really an anime fan, I don't even really go to the anime vice site, just always wondered why they aren't ever really included. I am a subscriber who was primarily drawn in by the guys at GB (though I love comics, movies, tech, etc)...if on the other hand I was a regular at anime vice, I would have no incentive to subscribe, but if I had signed up for a membership, I would feel robbed.

Animevice used to have two editors like a year and a half ago (before the subscriber stuff) but they were laid off because I guess Animevice wasn't growing in hits fast enough or w/e so they (Whiskey Media) decided to take a different approach, which meant less budget so Gia and John were laid off and now the editors of the site are all freelancers.

Tom Pinchuk is kind of the lead in terms of the freelancers and adds a little personality but for the most part the site is more discussion focused with the users there. Unfortunately though some of the mods there are kind of dicks so those with less patience probably are just going to say fuck this and go to bigger anime sites with permanent staff and a less abrasive community.

It also doesn't help that some of the editors of the other sites actively put down Animevice, (whether it be in a joking fashion or seriously) which is very strange, foolish and antithetical to the goal of getting people to go to the Whiskey Media sites.
