@castiel: The first time I heard Believe was on a DW top-40 video countdown show that aired in the US for a little while. It introduced me to all that europop stuff too, Vengaboys, Toybox, Dr. Bombay, I loved all that shit. Glory days of Radio Disney too.

I agree that the 1990s are the worst decade for music. I believe that after the fall of the Soviet Union, popular music took a massive downturn.

The Macarena should absolutely be on the list. The number of discos I had to endure in school with that damn song.

This was a pale shadow of the 80s video..

People knowing what picks were contenders beforehand, meant there were few surprises and much less conflict, which was the main noy of the 80s video..

Also Brad outright just not playing the game didn't help

wow, yeah so many things, but also a lot of truth... these are really frustrating because they are inherently so subjective and incomplete ... but yeah, My Heart Will Go On has no redeeming features at all. JUST. THE. WORST.

Love the idea for a video, but know I probably shouldn’t watch as it’ll be way too triggering when they inevitably call a bunch of songs I like hot garbage.

Wow, Jeff stunning the crowd late with Bad Take of the Day, equating Bush with Creed. Also, how is Barbie Girl not on this list?

I'm so glad they did this. I must've watched the 80s one a good five or six times. Glad they're planning to follow up with a second part, too - there's a lot untouched.

Interestingly as someone born in 1990, I knew the 80s list waaay more comprehensively than I did this one. Perhaps less of the US pop made it over to the UK in the 90s because the UK music scene had a pretty prolific 90s, but also I think it's because I didn't really start listening to current music until I was about 10 or 11 so I just grew up on my parents' old faves.

On the whole I'd say I agreed with the majority of this, though. I'm not the biggest My Heart Will Go On fan but in the moment when that keychange hit, it was the best song of the 90s for a few seconds. It's also interesting to me that as someone who is unapolagetically a fan of Alter Bridge, I have less than zero love for Creed. Something about the switchout of Scott Stapp and Myles Kennedy apparently made all the difference in the world to me.

I will say that first Crazy Town album was not terrible. I remember listening to that And being like there are some good tracks on here. I totally can see Jeff getting into Crazy Town.

I can't belive I'm "Well Actually"ing this video, but I feel like especially @brad or @alex would have/should have known this: Temple of the Dog wasn't a collaboration between Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.

Soundgarden existed with Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron, but Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament were bandless after the death of Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone. Wood and Cornell were roommates, and Temple of the Dog was a tribute to him with those four plus Mike McCready and some dude named Eddie Vedder from California that had flown up to audition for McCready, Ament, and Gossard.

Temple of the Dog released their EP, then Pearl Jam was formed. Sure, in hidsight it's easy to think of Temple as "Soundgarden plus Pearl Jam" since that's what those people went on to be, but it wasn't presented that way at the time.

@janman the songs are basically inaudible in this one, is that on purpose? The audio mix when you did the 5 on the bombcast was much better.

The absolute audacity to sample a well known loop from a very good Stevie Wonder song to make Wild Wild West is ...damn. Fuck that.

Not sure if there was a clipped video or something, but it was really hard to tell what the song title and artist were before they actually got typed into the list — like nobody called it out? You dudes were referencing lists we couldn't see. Idk, maybe i missed something

If anyone wants to listen to something abhorrent, check out Doop by Doop and realize that it was number one in the UK in 1994 for a time.

@shanerftw: Added Eiffel 65 - My Consolle (Album Radio Edit), and updated the ordering. I did not see "Jody - Dur dur d'etre bebe" in Spotify; at least not the version released in the US. I did see the "Junior Family" version which doesn't sound the same from the version.
