This is the best, truly. I've been watching this whole thing on repeat for some reason, and that's something I never do.

Also, Jan rocking back and forth to Achy Breaky Heart is the purest fucking thing.

How did 'Mmmbop' come through this unscathed? Looking at the Youtube comments, people seem to genuinely love that song but I'm sure that's pure nostalgia.

Dunno how takey this is gonna sound but... while MmmBop is a pretty stupid-ass song, Hanson is actually a really good band. I've heard a fair amount of their later stuff and it's not the bubblegum that first song makes you think the rest of their stuff would be. I guess it got them out in the zeitgeist to find those who'd make their audience, so it did its job?

@kup: Weird. Also, props to Scott Stapp for somehow managing to look even more douchey in 2020 than he did in 1999.

This list desperately needs Pretty Fly (for a White Guy) by the Offspring.

This is my got to list of the 1990s that cover all types of music....otherwise it be all punk or pop-punk,

Siouxsie and the Banshees, "Kiss them for Me" 1991

Rancid, "Time Bomb" (1995)

MxPx, "Punk Rawk Show" (1995)

The Offspring, "Self Esteem" (1994)

Sophie B. Hawkins, "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover" (1992)

New Radicals, "You Get What You Give" (1998)

Weezer, "In the Garage” (1994?) is my anthem of being a late teen.

Sir Mix-A-Lot, "Baby Got Back" (1992)

Smashing Pumpkins, "1979" (1995)

Beck, "Loser" (1993)

Green Day, "Longview [jerkoff song]" (1993)

Los Del Rio, "Macarena Bayside Boys Mix" (1993)

Kaoma, "Llorando se fue" (1989...most people in the west didn't know this song until the 90s...however, when I was 19, I fell HARD for a girl of a cruise ship in 1991, who LOVED this song! Jesus, she shook it!)

@mezmero: I get it, Creed where huge in the 90s before it was popular to hate them and I get how it can be hard to go back to some of that stuff especially the clothes 😂

Weirdly the Creed album I have listened to the most is their 2009 one, I think it's genuinely a good album and if people can get passed their dislike of Stapp they might like it.

The stories of everyone placing each song in a situation made this hilarious. Amazing intro by Jan.

I'll admit to once seeing Limp Bizkit in concert. "Faith" earned that spot.

What I learned from this is that the early ‘90s is much better than the late ‘90s. The early ‘90s had The Ace Of Base’s The Sign and All That She Wants, REM’s Losing My Religion and Man on The Moon, and U2‘s She Moves in Mysterious Ways. That’s not even counting 1990 since some people consider that the ‘80s. ...Also, I liked savage garden.

I listened to a lot better ‘90s songs in the ‘90s at my local inline skating disco.

I can't believe that they didnt have New Radicals in here. That song is quintessential '90s to me.

Also that Playstation song fucking suuucked, and Counting Blue Cars is better than it ranked.

Does anyone know what those dope pop filters are? That the West coast guys all have? The small curved screens between their mouths and the mic. I want one.

Jeff calling Butterfly "a catchy piece of shit" is just about the most accurate way I've ever heard that song described.

I regret watching this video thing. Most mornings, as I get ready for work, I have some random song stuck in my head. The day after watching this I had smashmouth stuck in my head. The next day Butterfly Kisses. Then Savage Garden and today it's Creed. I had long ago cleansed my brain of all these terrible songs. Since watching this, I feel like I had the absolute worst Muzak installed in my head.

@rexington: At least with that song, you can try to use it to hype your self up for a workout/tailgate party rager. Butterfly Kisses is an objectively wretched piece of music.

Happy that LFO got the recognition they deserve. In a decade that put out a lot of garbage music, they deserve to be at the top of the heap.
