Uncharted 3 is making another solid case for linear games, in this sea of sandboxes.

2011..year of the ps3.

Seems they've hit gold with Uncharted 2's formula refinements over the first. This has all the window dressings of 2, with a few tweaks here and there, set within some new locales and some equally engaging writing and voice acting. Can't wait to play it. Uncharted 2 was extremely meaty and enjoyable, so I'll probably get a kick out of the third installment.

God I need a ps3.

Agh, everything looks gorgeous, but why, why does the jump animation look so floaty? Everything else looks incredible but the jumping/in air animations have snapped me out of these games...the attention to detail on all the other aspects really bums me out that Drake is stuffing helium under that half-tuck

So, Sully walks on a BEAM and the guys don't shoot him? I totally would have shot an old dude trying to cross a wooden beam right in the leg, before diving for cover. 
 
And... they should fix the shooting. UC games always had one big problem for me ; guns felt like pea shooters. Blop Blop Blop.

Man, it's not the most clever game in terms of its gameplay, but it's by far the most refined game.  Absolutely everything in this game screams of craft.  The action is the old standby, but Naughty Dog's unparalelled technical ability brings such a kinetic rush from it.  The technical mastery services the action, which by itself might be a little bogstandard.  But nothing looks remotely as good as Uncharted, even the lovingly rendered God of War 3 looks like a video game when you move Kratos around with the stick.
 
First Uncharted the big artistic goal was the water effects and the jungle, the second it was snow and the train sequence... I'd have to say this one is aiming for deformed terrain.  The way things fall apart in Drake's Deception is Goddamn beautiful, there's that short clip of him shooting a humvee with an RPG and the stone support under it collapses.  I thought most of the tech would go to rendering the sand as well as they did snow in the sequel, but the deformation in this clip alone is amazing.
 
The fire looks pretty good too, and fire is probably the one thing video games will never be able to render realistically.

- The enemies seam to very stoic as in they're looping some animation and not making it convincing they're doing something. 
 
++Hand to hand combat looks awesome. Very well done. 
 
- The shooting from hanging looks BAD. How does a person lit himself up like that perch on top of a railing like Spiderman WITH his pistol out and fall back onto the railing like nothing. That needs to be fixed or made to look better. Concept it cool, but at the moment, looks dumb. 
 
++Lighting looks fantastic. 
 
+-Shooting mechanics are good. I hope they're playing it on easy, because the AI seams pretty clumsy at shooting. 
 
++Over all looks absolutely fantastic. Here's hoping this game keeps up with the high quality.

I can not wait for this game to come out in November. 5 minutes of awesome gameplay and I am 100% hooked.

Game looks fantastic, but I'd come back for the characters alone.

I feel like I could have just as much fun watching someone play this as I could actually playing it myself.

Nice meaty sound to the game, the wood thumping and crackle of the fire, even the sound of the weapons. all spectacular.

I hope those fire effects are WIP (which they probably are) cause they don't look too hot in comparison to the great looking everything else. :)

So tempted to buy a PS3 now. Looks absolutely fantastic.
