I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I want to put my opinion out there. I think something different needs to be done with the Comic Vine segments.

I don't mind them being on the show, it is the Whiskey Media Happy Hour after all, and I like the people, but their segments have never felt right. It doesn't move the same way as the rest and often comes off as awkward in a not fun way. Even the staff seemed bored during this week's piece. I'm not fond of any flat parts of the show, so I'll say the Giant Bomb wasn't great this time around either, but CV has been constantly dull since the Happy Hour's inception.

Sorry, I don't want to whine, and I love and support these sites. I just feel like something better can be done to make this a more entertaining watch for everyone.

@Slaker117: You should have seen the GB chat for this week's show.  It was filled with whiners that wouldn't shut up during the CV segment.

Covering comic books is different than everything else that WM has to offer.  There aren't any fancy trailers to show or weird experiments to run, and it's just Tony and Sara for the most part with occasional input from Norm.  I think what they do in presenting the comics on a weekly basis is fine for the show.  If they can come up with something more active, that would be great too, but it's especially ridiculous when the chat fills with idiots when they're interviewing a guest over the phone.

Also the awesome royalty free not back to the future theme song during the news segment.

@Slaker117: I like when they do the interviews but don't know enough about comics to know if the segments really work, honestly.

Still enjoy the Giant Bomb stuff. And that's what we're all here for, right?

Tested have their live experiments. Screened have their trivia contests.
Giant Bomb have what I suppose are live Quick Looks.
But Comic Vine need to find something.

There needs to be something for the Happy Hour that can't be done on the site at any other time, I thought that was always the point for the HH.

Redownloading now. JTV decided to screw up during the GB segment, which had some of the best live show conversation in a while.

@Slaker117: I think it's just that they haven't settled on a regular schtick, so they seem like they're just winging it every week -- and as much as I like the CV team, they might do well to take a few improv classes or something to improve their on-the-feet thinking, if they're not going to nail down a specific routine.

I mean, Tested has ridiculous "Challenges". GiantBomb has demos and hilarious Foreign games. Screened's got, if nothing else, snapshot reviews and puppies -- the music challenges have been a little hit and miss, but they're still fun.

Comic Vine? No such focus. They used to do the Dramatic Readings, which were hilarious, but I guess they weren't enjoying doing them. I dunno. I'm sure they'll figure something out.

All valid points. I'm sure WM is aware there is a certain lack of interesting things to do with comics on a live show and have thought about ways to improve. I just wanted to get that feeling out there in an intelligent manner instead of the mess we see in the live chat. I support Comic Vine and what they are about, I just wish they could spice it up a bit.

In fairness, the dramatic scene readings were only really funny when they were borrowing personality from the rest of the WM crew.  Tony and Sarah were always pretty boring in them, except from Tony's memorable Elvis impression during a Donald Duck one.

I'm fine with the new format of the CV segments.  Sarah and Tony are at their best when they are just doing straight informational stuff, instead of trying too hard to be funny like everyone else.

The Screened segments, for me, are getting to be a bit much, however.  The whole puppy thing is kind of played out at this point, and the movie clip trivia segments have been a trainwreck (I thought the more traditional trivia format this week worked way better).  One thing I wish they'd stop doing, is talking over callers

But whatever - the fact that I don't like everything in the Happy Hour all the time should be of no concern to them.  They are trying to cater to a wide net of tastes and interests during the show, and I imagine it's quite difficult to put on a 1-1.5 hour solid, tight live show.  I understand that.

Kind of mellow show this week. I enjoy Comic Vine segments each week despite not following comics closely, but Tested really needs to get some better and funnier segments, they usually steal the show but have been slacking it seems.

The conversation about PSN was great.  The dialog between Patrick and Jeff was great.  I love having Patrick there for info and Jeff for his common sense analysis (and Jeff for his info too as always).

which you can find out from watching their weekly news video already.... they need something with better mass appeal that is more like a segment. I enjoyed the interview on this weeks HH, but it suffered from being on here and not its own video with less time constraints. Considering they cover a medium that is so creative, I find it hard to believe that they can't find something better to do.

Does anyone else think that whenever Patrick's visible that he looks like a 16 year old.

The stuff he says is quite illuminating but he just looks a so damn young.

Absolutely no hate towards Klepik, cause I like him, but that joke is getting pretty old.
