Overview
Violent Storm is a 1993 side-scrolling brawler for the Arcades produced by Konami. It did not receive a home conversion and remains exclusive to the Arcades. The game features a post-apocalyptic USA that is on the road to recovery, but is still plagued by Mad Max-style motorcycle gangs. Three vigilantes who are keeping the peace in their region, Wade, Boris and Kyle, watch as their friend Sheena is abducted by a member of the Geld Gang and give chase across the city.
Wade is the all-rounder and de facto leader of the group, who mostly uses fast punching attacks. Kyle is even quicker, and tends to focus on kicks. Boris is the slowest and strongest of the three and has the lion's share of wrestling moves and throws.
The game plays much like other Final Fight/Streets of Rage brawlers of the era, but is best remembered for its post-apocalyptic setting and absurd rock soundtrack.
