If a fast paced FPS is like crack to you

So this game, its not very good.

It has tons of glitches and bugs that will make you fall through the geometry or get stuck in a wall and "clip die" in an instant. Its graphics are painfully dated and and washed out and the whole experience could best be described as dull.

The game is loosely based on "the island of Dr Moreau" and the inspiration material is handled with as much care as you could expect.

So basically an island with genetically modified animals with guns and rocket launchers and you are there to stop them, but wait, its more to it than first meets the eye!

The plot is ludicrous and you can see the side switching shenanigans can be seen a mile away. not that the switching matters anyways you are always alone and everyone is always your enemy in this game.

The voice acting though bad, falls in that hard to achieve so bad its good category and its sometimes really funny to listen to. That said, the plot drags on and like most of the game quickly becomes really dull.

The enemy design aren't all that bad either and some reminds me of old quake designs with metal grafted onto flesh kind of style.

When it comes to the combat its not that its outright bad in anyway its just that its really bland and the weapons are not very satisfying to shoot with even if the game has a ludicrous gore system in effect.

So back to the title of this text, if fast paced Fps-es are like crack to you maybe, just maybe you might find something interesting in this flawed package otherwise steer clear.

Bad First Impression / Okay Game 0

Vivisector started out as a Duke Nukem themed hunting game; an offshoot of the studio's Carnivores series. The result is a bit of a mash-up of genres. The outdoor environments are vast and aimless, but the finer gameplay beats are reminiscent of old school FPS (you don't even have to reload your guns). It's difficult to pin down, but I'd say it's a lot like Jurassic Park: Trespasser without a noodle arm. It could also be considered a more barren and uglier Far Cry 1.Ostensibly, this is an FPS ta...

      A barely successful procedure 0

For a game with a name based on experimentation, Vivisector: Beast Within is a surprisingly bland and non-experimental product. This is even more surprising given some of the sources the game is based on, such as The Island of Dr. Moreau. It's all a pity given how at the surface, Vivisector attempts to present itself as an intriguing FPS with unique enemy types and relatively large environments to explore. In practice though, Vivisector is just another middling and inconsistent FPS- many of whom...
