    Overview

Warfare Online is an online strategy game that combines real-time head to head strategy with CCG elements. Developed by Con Artist Games, creators of the popular browser games Warfare 1917 and 1944.

    Gameplay

A combination of RTS and CCG, Warfare Online sees two players facing off in a tug of war style game. Before the game begins, each player selects a Platoon. These platoons are a combination of units, support and operations assets. Once a battle starts, each player spawns units to the field which largely control themselves. Units will move and shoot on their own. The only direction units will take comes in the form of "cover" and from "support assets".

Support Assets come from a pre-selected list created in the platoon. These assets will come in at random and each has a Supply Cost associated with it. Supply comes in at a set pace of around 1 every 10 seconds.

In order to win, one player must push to the opponent's side of the map and destroy the outpost.

    Nations

Currently, there are two nations in the game, USA and Russia. Each nation has similar units for the most part, but there are distinctions made between vehicles. The nations also have exclusive Support Assets and Operations cards that they can use.

    Platoons

There are default platoons that can be used by new players. Players can create Custom Platoons which lets them select units, supports and operations as well as unlocks for each unit.

    Units

A unit is made up of a squad of soldiers, or a vehicle. When spawning a rifleman unit for example, it will deploy 5 soldiers to the field. Each unit has an unlock tree which is accessed by earning XP with that unit and then spending Credits to unlock items.

    Support Assets

These cards affect the battle in a number of ways. Some are direct damage, others are buffs and debuffs that can be applied to units. There are cards that provide information, disable or counter the opponent also. The combination of these cards makes for a huge amount of variety in each battle.

Both Support Assets and Operations are acquired by opening Supply Boxes, which can be purchased in the game using the Gold currency. Players can also get Support Assets and Operations from crafting.

    Operations

Otherwise known as Ops, these cards are overarching modifiers for a platoon. They can have a drastic effect on the effectiveness of the units and supports selected. Generally they are buffs and debuffs that are passive and don't require any action during battle.

    Supply Boxes

In order to gain new Support Assets or Operations, players will need to open Supply Boxes. These supply boxes cost gold, which can be earned by completing missions. Each supply box contains a random selection of cards and items.

    Platoon Slots

Each player starts with 2 platoon slots open to store custom platoons. More slots can be purchased for Gold.

    Currencies

Warfare Online has a number of currencies that it uses in game for different purposes.

    • Gold - premium currency earned by completing missions, or purchased in the store
    • Credits - silver currency that is earned by playing matches, used for unlocks
    • Munitions - green currency that is earned when salvaging Supports or Ops, used for crafting
