The full patch notes are in the link above, please check the full patch notes for more of the nitty gritty. But here's a high level summary of the major changes:
New Tutorial Quest
Warframe’s now has a new tutorial mission which integrates the cinematic opening directed by Dan Trachtenberg (known for 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Boys) shown at Tennocon in 2019. The revamped tutorial introduces new gameplay elements that have been added to Warframe over the years. The cinematic also better foreshadows later Warframe narrative and lore to come.
Returning and Veteran players can also play through the tutorial. The quest is replayable, and can be activated by going to the Codex Quest section under a new name ‘Awakening’
New Warframe: Xaku
Xaku (Pronoun They) is the newest Warframe introduced in Update 29. The “Broken-Frame” Xaku is made up of grafting parts from fallen Warframes in the early Entrati Void expeditions, and has abilities that allow them to come apart, dismantle.
Xaku's abilities is outlined below taken from the dev post:
New Open World Expansion - Heart of Deimos
The Cambion Dirft is a new open world region found on Mar's infested moon of Deimos. Along with this new open world environment is a new Hub area called the Necralisk where players will interact with new NPCs the Entrati Family the main Syndicate faction for Heart of Deimos. Players will need to earn standing (reputation) with the Entrati family to earn rewards and gear to assist you in the Cambion Drift.
The Infested moon of Deimos is under a constant war between VOME and FASS. Infested Wyrms that battle one and another. Whomever is dominate at the time influences the Day/Night cycle of the Drift. This will also effect what wild-life and enemies the player will encounter.
The Heart of Deimos expansion includes revamped systems seen in previous warframe open world expansions.
New Introductory Quest
To get your feet wet for the Heart of Deimos there's an introductory quest unlocked when a player has completed the Earth to Mars Junction.
New Entrati Token System - Each family member has their specific type of token you earn in exchange for completing various tasks in the Cambion Drift.
- New Bounties in which grind / farm blueprints and components for Xaku and other materials to advance Entrati Syndicate Rank.
- New Infested Fishing Mechanics (Daughter)
- New Infested Wildlife Conservation and Breeding (Son)
- New Materials to Mine (Loid / Otak)
- New MECHs (Father)
- New Oddities / Decorations (Grandmother)
- Isolation Vaults
- The Underground
New Gameplay Mechanic: NECRAMECH
"Standby for TitanFrames" the Necramechs are finally here. First revealed at Tennocon 2020 the Necramechs are pilot-able mechs that players can take control of. Nechramechs are unlocked through NECRALOID Syndicate also found in the Necralisk but only if the player has completed the War Within Quest. (You will need to have your Operator unlocked to access the Necramech.)
The the Necramech have their own
- weapons (Mausolon - default stock primary weapon) and the Cortege* (Find the Cortege Blueprint as well as its Components from the Necraloid Syndicate.)
- 4 abilities (See below)
- Their own set of mods to collect.

New Gameplay System: The Helminth
The Helminth system was revealed at Tennocon 2020. This feature is unlocked after obtaining a "Helminth Segment" upgrade for your orbiter. This upgrade is acquired from the Entrati Syndicate Conservation (The Son) once you are Rank 3 with the Entrati.
The Helminth once upgrade can provide you with two features:
- Every Warframe (Non-Prime) can be Subsumed (Sacrificed) to permanently provide 1 specific Ability to Helminth.
- You can then take that ability and replace 1 Ability per Warframe with a subsumed ability.

Other Goodies: (Glossing over)
- New Weapons: TRUMNA, SEPULCRUM and Xaku's Signature weapons : Quassus
- New K-Drive Mods. Players can now fire their secondary weapon while on the K-Drive
- Hydriod Deluxe Cosmetic Bundle
- Mag’s Magnetize now has an added functionality as seen in the “Awakening” cinematic. Now, when Magnetize is held vs. tapped to cast, Mag creates and holds a Magnetize bubble in front of her that absorbs projectiles. Recast the ability to throw the absorbed damage in a cone back onto enemies. Mag can also walk while holding the bubble.
