The systems in these games are governed by rules from the pen-and-paper RPG Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. There have been many turn-based and action RPGs that have utilized parts of the AD&D rule set.

Assassins are people who are tasked with the action of violence against peoples, though their general aims are to be discreet and as minimally violent as possible in order to remain discreet if necessary.
Binding wounds is a skill in which one can bandage one's own injuries or someone else's. It often serves as a substitute for healing items or magical healing.
The Bangaa Warrior is a Job Class from the Final Fantasy Tactics Series Franchise. The Warrior uses "Arts of War" to Heal himself and Rend his enemies. He can wield two-handed Broadswords, with one hand and a shield, making him both more offensive and defensive than a Soldier.
Barbarians in games are often known for their brute strength, large size compared to normal humans, appetite for meat and ale, general crudeness, and prowess in melee combat.
In Norse literature, berserkers are described as intense warriors who fought in a wild and uncontrollable fury. Many game have based characters or classes on the concept of these rage-driven warriors.

Einherjar are fallen warriors who are ressurected by Valkyries and sent to Odin as his warriors, or are ressurected to live once more.
The Espada are Aizens personal squad of super powered hollow who are as strong as a captain.
A popular class in many D&D based games, the Fighter can both dish it and take it!
Fletching the process by which aerodynamic arrows are crafted. This trade skill is often a chosen profession of rangers, rogues, and warriors. In games, the fletching usually includes the skill of crafting bows as well.
