    Gandalf is a wizard in the world of Middle-Earth. He appears in The Hobbit, and Lord of the Rings. He's later reborn as Gandalf the White. In the Peter Jackson film adaptations, Sir Ian McKellen plays the role of Gandalf.

    Gandalf is a wizard in the Lord of the Rings series, and one of the main protagonists. He is called Gandalf the Grey until he fights the Balrog and comes back, with new powers, as Gandalf the White. He is playable in most Lord of the Rings games, but usually only as a side character. Some years after the defeat of Sauron Gandalf and Frodo sailed over to the undying lands.

    Background

    Gandalf is one of the five members of the Order of Wizards, sent to fight Sauron, in Middle Earth. Gandalf is fond of hobbits, and chooses both Bilbo and Frodo for the missions of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, respectively. He becomes leader of the Istari (a group consisting of himself and the other four wizards) after the fifth wizard, Saruman, betrays them.
