Team17 is best known for developing the Worms franchise. Originally a publishing company known as 17-Bit Software, later changing their name to Team 17. The company started out developing games for the Amiga.

History
Team 17 was founded in 1990. Their first game, which was released in 1991 was Full Contact, a beat 'em up game. Initiatively, the developers named themselves Team 7. The game was published by Seventeen Bit Software. More titles followed, such as Assassin and the Alien Breed series. The first game of the infamous Worms series was released on the Amiga (Platform). Further implementations of the franchise followed for platforms such as the Playstationand XBOX and has since spawned versions for the Xbox 360 (Platform), Playstation 3 and even the iPhone (Platform).
