The XnGine is a limited 3D graphics engine created by Bethesda Softworks in 1994. Its development continued through 1997, when it was configured for higher resolutions, and 1998 when it was made compatible with higher-end graphics cards. It was originally considered to be the engine for the Elder Scrolls sequel to Daggerfall, Morrowind, but it was abandoned in favor of a new engine, NetImmerse, by Numerical Design Limited. This engine would later be developed into the Gamebryo engine.
