Teach your AI-controlled robotic companion how to interact with objects in order to solve puzzles!

Overview

Pet in TV, known in Japan as Ganbare Morikawa-kun 2-gō (loosely translated to "Good Luck, Morikawa No. 2") is a puzzle game developed by MuuMuu (Company) (along with Sony Computer Entertainment) and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the Sony PlayStation in Japan on May 23, 1997 and in Europe on August 1998. In Pet in TV, players train an autonomous robot (known as a "Pet in TV", or "PiT") on how to explore the environment and interact with objects, with the goal being to help it understand how to solve puzzles on its own (so it can collect AI-CHIPs scattered throughout each world) and upgrade it with new parts. Designed by Yukito Morikawa, the game is known for its use of artificial intelligence and reinforcement learning, with the player influencing PiT's behavior by responding to actions the robot performs on objects. The studio later used similar AI technology in its successor, Kokohore! Pukka: Dig-a-dig Pukka (which also includes the same assistant character, known as Dr. Y). It later received a digital re-release via PlayStation Network (Concept) (as a PSone Classics (Concept) title) exclusively in Japan on February 22, 2007.
