Zoom! is a maze game developed and published by Discovery Software International for the Amiga (Platform), Commodore 64 (Platform), and DOS PCs in 1988.
In Zoom!, players control the ball-like "Zoomer" as it skates around a gridded board, marking its path, in order to traverse all lines on the board while avoiding enemies that chase it (although laying down traps and collecting special power-ups can hinder their pursuit). Similar to the pen-and-paper game dots and boxes, forming a closed 1×1 box fills it up for score, with bonus points for filling up multiple boxes in quick succession.
The game is unique for displaying the board in an oblique 3D angle, with sprites becoming larger and smaller as they head towards and away from the screen, respectively. The game supports two players, with both alternate (Two Player Game) and simultaneous (Competition Mode) play.
The game later received a conversion by Cyclone System (Company) and Sigma Pro-Tech for the Sega Genesis, released by Sega (Company) in January 1990. This version features revamped graphics and audio, updated gameplay (such as removing the health bar and replacing the blockading system with both jumping a large distance and kicking enemies away), and a new selection of levels. It features a redesigned protagonist and story, with players controlling Mr. Smart as he must clear boards to clear force fields around Earth placed by Space Phantoms.
