Overview
Card Sharks, not to be confused with the Accolade card game of the same name, is a digital TV game show adaptation developed by Softie and published by Sharedata for the Apple II, Commodore 64, and DOS PCs in North America in 1988.
An adaptation of the CBS TV game show of the same name, Card Sharks builds on the classic playing card game of acey deucey by having contestants correctly predicting whether the next card in their five-card lineup is higher or lower in value than the previous card. It also features a similar mechanic to get control of the board, where one contestant must guess how much of a 100-person survey question was answered with "yes", and then the other contestant must guess whether the true answer is higher or lower.
Unlike some other TV game show adaptations, this is the only retail video game adaptation of the Card Sharks show, although there were multiple mobile and web-based adaptations starting in the 2000's.
