A simplistic puzzle game where its psychedelic visuals and subliminal messaging tries to get you to "Play More. Feel Better."
Overview
Endorfun is a 3D puzzle game developed by onesong and published by Time Warner Interactive for Windows PCs and Macintosh computers on September 1995.
In Endorfun, players roll a multi-colored cube (or "life body") along a tiled playfield (the "unified field"), attempting to collect "life force" by rolling the cube on top of them in a way so the top-most face of the cube matches the life force's color. Players not only have to contend with the game's timer, but also colored tiles that are added on the playfield that can block movement (unless matched properly, similar to life force).
The game was known not only for its psychedelic visuals and spiritual messaging, but also for its unique worldbeat soundtrack that is comprised of multiple small segments that are looped together. These segments sometimes contain spoken positive affirmations, which gave the game some notoriety for its potential subliminal messaging.
It was later reworked for Japanese consoles as Cu-On-Pa, removing the visuals and spiritual messaging for a more traditional puzzle game experience.
