Wiiiiiiiiild Woody!

Wild Woody is a 2D side-scrolling platformer developed by Sega Multimedia Studio (Company) and published by Sega (Company) for the Sega CD (Platform) on September 1995.

In Wild Woody, players control the eponymous anthropomorphic pencil of the same name, who was brought to life by the bottom part of a broken-off miniature totem pole and tasked with entering various parallel universes formed through various paper (such as a painting, a blueprint, and a comic book) in order to retrieve the other pieces of the totem pole and save the world.

Woody has various abilities based on being a pencil, including using his eraser bottom to erase enemies and certain walls/floors and using his pencil lead tip to sketch various objects he finds (for various purposes, including transforming into things, stunning enemies, and reaching new areas). He has a sketchbook that he uses to determine which object to sketch.

Along with its eccentric protagonist and 3D CGI cutscenes, the game features a multi-genre soundtrack from guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal . Some of the songs from the game were later included in the 2010 anniversary re-release of his debut solo album debut solo album The Adventures of Bumblefoot. The game is also known for a hidden raunchy easter egg where the mermaid can be sketched topless (despite the game having a K-A ESRB rating).

While the character of Wild Woody has never been in any Sega material since the game's original release, he has appeared (without involvement from Sega) as a DLC guest character in the 2020 crossover kart racing eroge Shady Lewd Kart (Game) (where he is voiced by the original voice actor).
