    Tales of Hearts is the eleventh mothership title in the long running Tales action RPG series. Namco Bandai published Hearts for the Nintendo DS in Japan in December 18, 2008 and was the first DS title in the series to be developed by the Namco Tales Studio. The game featured the "Combination Aerial Linear Motion Battle System" (a variation of the Tales series' Linear Motion Battle System) and used 2D sprites for the characters unlike the other Tales entries on the system.

    Two versions of the game were released on the DS: one with anime cutscenes, and one with computer-rendered cutscenes.

    In 2012 a Vita version called Tales of Hearts R was released based on the anime version, adding amongst other things a new playable character.
