A 1989 NES game from Namco's Mappy franchise.

Overview

Mappy Kids is a 1989 Famicom-only sequel to Namco's 1983 arcade game Mappy (Franchise). In Mappy Kids, the player controls Mappy's son Happy (who first appeared in Mappy Land (Game), though as Mappy Jr.), who must convince his girlfriend to marry him by acquiring money across the world and from mini-games to prove he is a good provider. There is also a two-player mode where two sons compete for her hand in marriage. The game plays similarly to Mappy Land, as the player must make their way through side-scrolling stages while collecting cash items. The player also takes part in mini-games which are chosen after a stage is complete. The money earned can then be put towards parts of a dream house that Happy is building for his future family - the best ending can only be obtained if all these home parts are purchased before the final stage.
