    Overview

    Midway Presents Arcade's Greatest Hits: The Atari Collection 1 is a compilation that features six Atari arcade games. Each game has its own sub-set of options that allows players to adjust the difficulty, the number of starting lives, the amount of points required to earn extra lives, etc..

    The game followed 1995/6's Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits and was followed by many more Arcade's Greatest Hits compilations, many of which were headlined by Midway.

    The games included in The Atari Collection 1 are:

    Asteroids

    Options included:

    • Ships to start: (3-4)

    Battlezone

    Options included:

    • Missles After (5000, 10000, 20000, 30000): Set the amount of points before Missiles are used against the player.
    • Tanks to start: (2-5)
    • First Bonus: (None, 15000, 25000, 50000)
    • Controller: (Arcade, Native)

    Centipede

    Options included:

    • Lives to start: (2-5)
    • Bonus at: (10000, 12000, 15000, 20000)
    • Difficulty: (Easy, Hard)
    • Player Speed: (1-5)

    Missile Command

    Options included:

    • Cities to start: (4-7)
    • Bonus at: (None, 8000, 10000, 12000, 14000, 15000, 18000, 20000)
    • Player Speed: (1-5)

    Super Breakout

    Options included:

    • Balls per game: (3, 5)
    • Game Type: (Cavity, Progressive, Double)
    • Player Speed (1-5)

    Tempest

    Options included:

    • Lives to Start: (2-5)
    • Bonus at (None, 10000, 20000, 30000, 40000, 50000, 60000, 70000)
    • Player Speed: (1-5)
    • Minimum rating: When set to 9, players can skip to level 9 at the start screen. If set to Variable, players can skip farther ahead based on the high score.
    • Demo Mode: Allows access to all levels from the start screen, also enables skipping levels during the game by pressing Select. Note: Demo Mode disabled high scores.
    • Difficulty: (Easy, Medium, Hard)
