Released in both the Japanese and U.S. regions, the game featured some rather drastic differences between the versions.  The U.S. version expanded the multiplayer modes, raised the player count  from two players to four players and removed the use of cut-scenes for storytelling.  A port of the arcade game was released on the Sharp X68000 in Japan.  U.S. Championship V'Ball was later reimagined for the NES as Super Spike V'Ball.
