    Overview

Ultimate Soccer is a soccer game exclusive to Sega consoles in Europe and Brazil. It is based on the 1992 home computer soccer game Striker by Rage Software, the first in the Striker franchise, with a few tweaks and other minor improvements as well as some Sega branding (Sonic appears throughout the menus). Other Striker games would skip Sega systems and be released on SNES instead (as World Soccer '94 and Elite Soccer) and then return to Mega Drive with 1995's Striker.

The game includes sixty-four international sides and can be played in various modes: a single friendly match, a penalty shoot out mode, a tournament mode, a league mode, and a knockout mode. It uses a vertical perspective of the pitch and the player can switch perspective from one side to the other at any time in the pause menu, rather than waiting for the second half.
