Blood Bowl 2 is a turn-based strategy and sports game based in the Warhammer Fantasy universe with added RPG elements. Featuring multitudes of fantasy races fighting, injuring, and killing each other, while handling a football for the end goal of scoring touchdowns.
It features a new more modern UI, more simple game-play with new avenues to ease the players into the mechanics while still providing in-depth and complicated choices on the field.
Blood Bowl 2 heavily relies on random dice rolls but each race, skill and stat bonuses modifies these rolls so players can tailor them to fit their needs in certain situations for a better chance at success.
The game has an in-depth tutorial disguised as the campaign to help new players understand all the intricacies when heading into Blood Bowl.
Blood Bowl 2's online is the main draw of the game. There is player created leagues and seasons along with a primary league, some invitational leagues but most being free to join for anybody wanting to find a community to learn or battle with.
More features include: Stat tracking, leaderboards, team rating for accurate matchmaking, commentary, campaign, expansive online community, complicated strategy, and random events.
The perfect faction for first-time players, they do a little bit of everything but have no particular mastery in any one category, thus forcing whoever's coaching a Human team to adapt to the opponent's faction.
Another good faction for first-time players, Orcs are more durable on average than their Human counterparts, and able to dish out pain as well as they take it, while being slightly cheaper to replace. However, their players are a bit slower, and their Goblins can be knocked out more easily if an opponent makes a good roll on them.
Short, sturdy, often drunk, yep this is a dwarven team. They may struggle to pick up and move the ball, but what they lack in agility, they can more than compensate with taking and dealing out damage to the enemy team. The Deathroller is classified as a Secret Weapon, so it can only be used once until a goblin ref sends it off at the next dead ball. However, if the Deathroller can injure a few opponents before then, it'll be more than worth it.
Sneaky rats they are, capable of zipping down the field, dodging enemy blockers, and scoring a touchdown in just 1-2 turns before the enemy team knows what hit them. However, most Skaven players are fragile, and if they do get knocked down, are more likely to get injured or killed.
This posh team has the agility of their elven bretheren, combined with standard armor that actually works and allows them to take a few hits. With enough experience, any Elven unit can turn into a scoring machine. However, the downside is they have no Big Guy like most other factions to take and deal out hits on the line, and High Elf units are a little more expensive to replace.
Dark Elven units are slightly more unique, able to slip in and out of danger as needed depending on the situation. In lieu of a Big Guy on their team, Dark Elves have a Witch who can use Frenzy to give themselves an extra attack roll, and Assassins who can Stab enemy units. However, like other elves, most of their units have slightly less AV, and won't be able to tank hits so well when the other team is in striking distance.
More posh Humans with some of the best Blitzers that money can buy, but balanced out by having bad everything else. Only 3 unit types (including Blitzers), no Big Guy, and no real quarterback at the start. However, their lineman are cheap and are born with the Fend skill, which will make enemy teams work harder to gain ground.
This team struggles to pick up and move the ball and has very few unit types, but they're happy just brutalizing the enemy team until there isn't any opponent left to stop them. Their Chaos Warriors start out with above-average strength and AV, and all Beastmen get a Strength bonus when Blitzing. Chaos units have easy access to Mutations when leveling up, allowing for some interesting player customization (if they survive long enough to use them).
Some of the fastest units in the game, plus they have a Big Guy (Treeman) who is very hard to knock down while able to dish out incredible punishment on anyone close enough to smack. However, most of their units have below-average AV, won't last long in a direct battle, and are a little pricier to replace than other Elves.
