    Overview

    Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is the fourth entry in the Shantae series of action platformers developed by Wayforward Technologies with assistance from Inti Creates. The game stars the titular half-genie heroine, Shantae, as she discovers a portal to the Genie Realm in Scuttle Town where an evil force is attempting to escape, threatening the peace of the world. Half-Genie Hero was funded through KickStarter in 2013 where it met its goal and was eventually published digitally in 2016 for the PC, Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One as well as PlayStation Vita. XSEED Games also released physical copies of the game, subtitled the "Risky Beats Edition," on all of the title's platforms except the Xbox One.
