    Overview

Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is a hidden object-based adventure game developed and published by Artifex Mundi for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game was ported and published for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone by G5 Entertainment.

    Story

The game's general premise is quite similar to that of BioShock, taking place in an art deco-themed underwater city that has been devastated by a conflict between the human inhabitants and mysterious ghost-like creatures known as Legates. The protagonist stumbles upon the city while exploring the sea floor in a submarine, and must rescue her husband when he is abducted by the Legates.

    Gameplay

Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden uses a point and click style interface to interact with objects, characters, and puzzles. The game is broken up into locations which are represented by a single screen with many objects scattered around. There are some background objects which can be interacted with by clicking on them to see a small animation rather than the backgrounds just being static.

    Hidden Object Scenes

Each of the games hidden object scenes contain twelve specific items that must be found. These items are listed at the bottom of the screen. Each hidden object scene is a screen that is cluttered with items. Some of the items must be found by combining different items on the screen to create a new item or to reveal an item.

    Assemble An Item

In addition to the hidden object scenes there are assemble an item scenes. These scenes are similar to hidden object scenes in that the player needs to find items hidden in a scene. The items in these scenes however are not a list at the bottom, but pictures of the items. Once these items are found they are assembled into a useful item that goes into the players inventory.

    Domino Puzzles

At a certain point in the game the player can choose to play a domino game rather than complete an assemble an item or hidden object scene. These puzzles involve a board with a grid and some symbols on it. The goal is to place dominoes across the board until they touch all the symbols. Dominoes are placed end to end using the same images on the ends of the dominoes.
