SideQuest
An indie "tabletop MMO" adventure game played within a livestream.
Overview
SideQuest is a massively-multiplayer adventure game played within a live stream. Like a tabletop RPG, SideQuest follows a band of heroes exploring a fantasy world. Players team-up or compete to overcome obstacles, alongside standard live stream entertainment. SideQuest is playable on any platform with the streaming app, (web, mobile/tablet, consoles, etc.).
Gameplay
Players can participate in game events through the accompanying chat interface. Like a text adventure, players use keywords to indicate their actions. Game events pose challenges, decisions or opportunities for the adventuring party. The outcome of an event is determined by the event type, and by overall player participation. Events reward experience and influence to players based on their individual actions. Players can advance through levels to collect new and different adventuring gear, and animal companions. Live events also post to the Twitter account of SideQuest's narrator. Players with linked accounts can tweet @Trusty_Bard to play along remotely.
