Exorder is a fantasy turn-based tactical RPG from Fat Dog Games and Solid9 Studio. It features both single-player campaigns and multiplayer skirmishes with cross-platform compatibility for PC and Nintendo Switch. Players may march into battle as Princess Beyla in the narrative campaign or wage war on each other with 10 units that boast distinct skills.

Overview

Exorder takes huge inspiration from old classics, such as Final Fantasy Tactics (Game). The game was made by a small, Polish team Solid9 Studio (Company). It is their 2nd, and most polished video game. It has a long single-player campaign, but also cross-platform multiplayer. The game belongs to sub-genre of Strategy Games - Tactical Games. Majority of the gameplay is purely tactical and turn-based. The game features light-hearted tone and plenty of comedy in cartoon, colorful visuals.

Gameplay

The game's single-player campaign consist of 12 storyline missions, which also acts as tutorial. By playing single-player campaign, the player learns about all unit types, their characteristics and unique skills, basic controls and elements of the game. The gameplay is turn-based and overall difficulty level is rather casual, for a Tactical-Strategy video game. Beside the turn-based combat - a lot of gameplay reminds of game of Chess, where you have to foresee enemy movements plus resources management as the player is limited when and what sort of units he can deploy in his turn.

Story

The game takes the player to fictional, fantasy land of Cerulean. The king had died and the player takes control of one of the King's children - Princess Beyla. From this moment - a civil war breaks out. Putting Princess Beyla against her brother, Prince Tristan. As the story unfolds, Princess Beyla gathers more troops and allies, in preparations for upcoming conflict and battles against her brother. The story follows her steps as she rises to power and influence, in race for the crown of Cerulean.
