Overview
Ponpoko is an arcade-style platformer developed and released by Sigma for arcades in Japan sometime in 1982. It also received a limited run in North America (by Venture Line) and Europe (by Orion_ (Company)). Players control a Japanese raccoon dog (or "tanuki") of the same name as they navigate around a set of platforms to eat all fruits on-screen. Along the way, they must avoid moving enemies (scorpions and snakes), jump over valleys and spiked apple cores, and unravel mystery pots (which contains either bonus points or snakes).
