    Introduction

Megido72 is a Japanese only, free-to-play, mobile RPG developed by Media.Vision and DeNA. Boasting unique battle system called "Photon Driven System" on top of regular gacha game summoning/leveling system. It went through many revisions since its first release in late 2017.

The player takes the role of a young man with the ring of Solomon, leading his group of demonic beings called "Megido" to prevent "Harmageddon" -- the war between angels and demons that will end the world.

As soon as the battle starts, a randomized array of objects will appear. These are called "photons". Photons work as command in regular rpg game come in three types.

Player can use photons by dragging a photon they want over a unit's head and then release. Each unit by default can stack photon up to three. The same goes with the enemy who will take turns with player picking their photons. When all photons are taken, the battle phase starts and action play out. This will repeat until either side goes down. Both units and enemies have their own unique traits and abilities which make them acts differently to same photon. There's also an equippable item called "Orb," which have passive ability (like "increase defense") and active ability (heal, give photon, attack, barrier). Offer gameplay depth despite the battle system being as simple as 'choosing random photon".

Units in this game are categorized by "style" which decides how they play and "class" which decides where they'll stand or attack. Styles in this game are ranged from quick speedster Rush, sturdy and well-balanced Counter, resource hungry late-game dominator Burst. All of them consist of three classes of Fighter, Trooper, and Sniper. Since this game has no rarity difference, all of them start from one star and can be evolved to six by giving them their own specific materials (most of which are main story drops). The game offers quick way to farm those material by "Clear Ticket," which players can use on any main story stage as long as said stage has been cleared once and without casualties. There is also a shop, which refresh four times per day, allowing players to trade gold for material as well as the ticket and stamina drink.

For beginners, Megido 72 offers re-rollable gacha, which lets players redo their first 10-rolls until getting units they want (two guaranteed, one jackpot) and another unit-guarantee gacha, which guarantees at least one unit per ten up to thirty rolls. After that, there will no longer be a guarantee, except from Sabbath summon (激☆魔宴 or simply サバト) where units rate will be raised to 10% (from normal rate of 5%) and if player failed to get units in twenty-nine rolls, one guaranteed unit will be summoned at the 30th attempt. Even though it's common practice to roll guarantee gacha first for starter team, some may want to roll sabbath for time limited units as many units aren't featured in guaranteed banner. The game also give players story units, which most of game balance are built around as well as event unit player can obtain by playing story event (hard stage are optional).
