Overview
Shakes & Fidget is a free-to-play MMORPG by German developer Playa Games. The cult-comic-book-style game takes players into an unpredictable fantasy world full of monster bunnies and hell brides. Shakes & Fidget is available to play by its 50 million registered players in 21 languages on Steam, in browsers, and on iOS and Android devices. While the Online-RPG comes along as a comical tribute to the fantasy genre, Shakes & Fidget is also an ambitious fantasy MMORPG itself.
Development
Since its first release in 2009 as a browser game, Shakes & Fidget has been under continuous development. Most recently, developer Playa Games released a remastered version of the game in November 2018. This completely revised version replaced the outdated Flash base with a combination of Unity Engine and WebGL and added thousands of newly drawn high-resolution graphics.
Gameplay Overview
Payers build their character by choosing one of five classes (Mage, Scout, Battle Mage, Assassin, Warrior) and one of eight races (Human, Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Orc, Dark Elf, Goblin, Demon). Each class and each race comes with unique skills and stats that will influence a character’s gameplay style.
Completing quests and killing outrageous monsters for experience points, eccentric loot items and gold are just two of the gameplay possibilities Shakes & Fidget offers. Players can also team up through the game’s guild system, measure their strength in the PvP-arena, build and expand their own fortress, collect and level up pets, or create their own subterranean empire.
