Depixtion innovates on the popular Picross formula by integrating a never before seen color mixing mechanic, generating the largest color palette in a nonogram game to date Because of this, the player has a higher degree of artistic input on the final image, alongside a higher verticality of challenge from the puzzle itself. Developed & published by DevHour Games, Depixtion was released on Steam on July 17th, 2019.
Gameplay
Traditionally, Picross games consist of a single monochrome, grid based puzzle, typically ranging in sizes from 5x5 to 30x30 (and larger) that when solved using the number hints on the side and top of the grid, reveal a hidden image. Depixtion enhances this core game play by blending in a color mixing mechanic. Instead of a single monochrome puzzle, players will complete 3 separate colored layers, that when complete, blend together, mixing the colors to create the final image.
