Overview
Iron Soldier is a mech sim game developed by Eclipse Software and published by Atari Games exclusively for the Atari Jaguar platform. It is the first game in the Iron Soldier franchise: the follow-up, Iron Soldier 2 (Game), would become one of the few games released for both the standard Atari Jaguar console and the Atari Jaguar CD peripheral. In Iron Soldier, the player controls a 40 foot tall mech with adaptable weaponry: the player finds weapons in missions, and can customize their load-out before each mission with the weapons they've found or unlocked. Most missions involve destroying critical targets found around the area. The action is depicted via a first-person cockpit perspective, similar to the MechWarrior (Franchise) games.
