    Overview

The Wii Remote features a unique design for its generation of game controllers that lends itself to some unusual gameplay styles. The controller's shape, rumble capability and internal speaker especially have allowed game developers to simulate using the Wii Remote as a telephone. In-game prompts will encourage the player to hold the Wii Remote to their ear so that they may listen to what a character within the game has to say.

The first game to use the Wii Remote in this way was Red Steel. The game features a multiplayer mode in which the players will periodically receive phone calls that come in through the Wii Remote, and the players must stop in order to listen to the "caller" in order to learn who their current targets are.
