Last week I ordered a Wii U bundle from Best Buy. So far I have Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land...what other Wii U games should I get?

The Nintendo Wii U, the follow-up to the monstrously popular Nintendo Wii console, launched in North America on November 18th 2012.
New Wii U Owner
- Bayonetta 2
- Smash
- Mario Kart
- Bayonetta 2
- Wind waker
- Bayonetta 2
- Bayonetta 2
- Bayonetta 1, which is packed in with...
- ...Bayonetta 2.
- Pikmin 3
- Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
(Make Bayonetta 2 your priority)
@frostyryan: ....so you're saying Bayonetta 2...
Mario Kart, Smash, Bayonetta 2, Wind Waker, Earthbound, ZombiU, Wonderful 101, Super Mario World, and Super Metroid.
EDIT: The writing in Wonderful 101 is absolutely hilarious.
wii u really coming into its own. who needs third party when the first party stuff rules so hard?
NEW METROID PRIME PL0X
Only Wii U game aside from the ones bundled in (also 3d world and NintendoLand) I've bought was Bayonetta 2, so count me in on that hype train of "sweet jesus just buy it it is totally my game of the year."
Bayonetta 2. I guess you could get Mario Kart and Smash, if you regularly play games with other humans in the same room? They're fine. But as far as "stellar games you can't get elsewhere," Bayonetta's the big one. I'm a bad person for not having anything to say about Wonderful 101 or Donkey Kong. Those are probably the other ones that matter.
[Edit:] Hyrule Warriors is also a totally competent one-of-those-games, and the Zelda window dressing might be enough for you. It was for me, but it didn't have a lot of staying power. I remain baffled at that team's complete lack of interest with acceptable framerates.
I'm a fairly new Wii U owner myself. I only have Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, New Super Mario Bros. U, and ZombiU. I recommend all of those.
I am going to buy Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, and Super Mario 3D World sometime in the future.

Pikmin 3 is really really cool
Sure is.

No Rayman Legends love?
As someone who played through Rayman Legends on 360 and Wii U, I think the Wii U might actually be the worst version because of the mandatory gamepad levels. Those are really annoying if you're playing solo.
I drunkenly purchased what I assume is the same pack as the OP last week. I can't return it and now, too, have become the proud owner of a Wii U
Call me insane but is Bayonetta 2 really that good? And is Hyrule Warriors really that bad?
IMO yes Bayonetta 2 is that good. If you like character action games (Devil May Cry etc) then Bayonetta 2 is the closest thing to perfect I know of in the genre to date. It got rid of the worst parts of the first game mechanically (bad QTEs at random times that could kill you in particular) made the combat in general even BETTER, and generally crafted a game I've already put 40 hours into and will likely put at least another 2-3 times that into before all is said and done, not out of a grinding need, but because I want to master the game and fully explore the awesome it entails.
@giantstalker: Hyrule Warriors isn't that bad. It is a version of Dynasty Warriors that has a story that people know of. It is a button mashing game with very little thought needed to beat it. It is a neat game to play co-op or while listening to a podcast. It is mostly a game for big fans of Zelda or Dynasty Warrior games.
Sadly there is no Yellow Turban Rebellion in it.

I haven't tried Hyrule Warriors so no idea (but I suspect that the trailers do it justice, so it's probably safe to judge based on those).
Bayonetta 2 *is* that good. Some people just aren't into that kind of game ("character action"?), but Platinum executed incredibly well on pretty much all fronts--the game oozes style and is just plain fun to play & experiment in. The only negative I had was being a bit disappointed with the ending battle when compared to Bayonetta 1. And if you didn't play the first one then that pretty much doubles the value of the package right there (this was the case for me).
The Wii U is getting some great games. Bought mine this year and surprised how much I've enjoyed playing it. Still haven't played all the games I want to due to time and money, but I highly recommend Bayonetta collection, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros Wii U and Pullbox World to name a few.
There are others I haven't got around to playing yet though.
@giantstalker: Hyrule Warriors is pretty good, Jeff and Dan didn't like it because Jeff and Dan don't like good games.
Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, DKCTF, Mario Kart 8, Smash and Wind Waker HD are all excellent goddamn games. Rayman Legends, too, if you haven't played it elsewhere. I particularly suggest not sleeping on Pikmin 3, even if you'd never gotten into the series prior - I'd never been super into Pikmin and adored playing through Pikmin 3.
Less excellent games, but still pretty damn good: New Super Mario Bros. U/New Super Luigi U, ZombiU and Hyrule Warriors (Hyrule Warriors less so, but the fan service is fun).
I just got a Wii U too!! I got Smash bros and Mario 3D World, and I'm loving them to death!!! So good! Looking to get Mario Kart 8 and Toad Tracker soon, and I'll probably end up picking up Hyrule Warriors, Wonderful 101, and Bayonetta 2 eventually. Really happy with my purchase; definitely the console that most appeals to me this generation.
YES zombieU is actually also pretty rad if you dont expect too much of it, it has some pretty great ideas and it should be in bargain bins everywhere by now. Its more of a slow survival/"roguelite" game than a straight up action or horror game. It got some really bad reviews but I actually liked it a lot for what it was. Gotta love the zombie raveparty too hahaha
I personally own Pikmin 3, Sonic All Stars Transformed and Rayman Legends.
Smash Bros. is another Smash Bros. Mario Kart is another Mario Kart. Super Mario 3D World is 3D Land on a console. So... somehow, this generation Nintendo games don't directly appeal to me just because they're Nintendo games.
But there are games I need to buy that I haven't because of financial reasons. Wind Waker HD because I haven't completed Wind Waker yet and Bayonetta 2 looks great. Captain Toad is the one I'm hella excited for though.
Buy Shovel Knight, buy it, buy it now! Also why have no one else mentoined Shovel Knight, what is the matter with you, you monsters!
Buy Bayonetta 2, its an excellent, incredibly well paced game
Buy Mario Kart 8, it's an amazing one-of-those, and the best kart game I've played since Mario Kart DS
Hyrule Warriors is a good game for hungovers though I can't honestly recommend it
I came in here to say Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, and Shovel Knight, but it looks like people have already recommended those.
Instead I'm going to recommend that you buy a Pro Controller if you haven't. The Game Pad is neat at first, but in the long run, you're probably going to want a Pro Controller. Especially for games like Smash Bros and Bayonetta 2.
Wonderful 101 is an incredibly under appreciated and overlooked game, and I implore you to give it a shot. Hell, I'd even recommend it over Bayonetta 2, I liked it so much. It's 28$ on amazon right now.
The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, Game & Wario, New Super Mario Bros U and New Super Luigi U are all worth picking up.
Thank you all for the recommendations. Except for @gunstarred...lol. Looks like my Wii U collection will be 16 deep soon.

For real, Wonderful 101's controls take a little bit of getting used to, but it's one of Platinum's best games to be sure.
I haven't played it since I don't own a Wii U. However, a bird told me that Bayonetta 2 is good. I'll probably pick one up before to long though.
@turtlebird95: I only played it on Wii U. What do they do with the Murfy levels on 360? Do you just control the standard character while Murfy does his thing or are they gone all together? Either way at least the Wii U gives you more, it wasn't so bad using the touch screen. It was designed as an exclusive initially, I think it's fair to say the Wii U is the lead platform and deserves a mention here.
I suppose I'm going to have to play Bayonetta aren't I? I'm all for wacky silliness, but combo based fighting games is not something I enjoy. I played the demos for both games but they weren't enough to convince me. As intrigued as I am by these games I'm not sure they'll live up to the hype.
If you like warriors style games, get Hyrule Warriors.
Its incredible if you like the style of game it is.
Also Wonderful 101 is criminally underrated, the depth there is massive, still new combos and combo videos are released. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze is one of the best 2d platformers ever made.
@tom_omb: They pretty much mapped all of Murphy's actions to the B button while you control Rayman. The Wii U version is pretty great, but I just thought those levels in particular were really annoying, especially when you have to do things just right for Globox to do stuff. I wish they at least offered the option to play them like the other versions.
After debating for several days, I ordered a Wii U last night. It is good to see that most of the recommended games are ones I plan on playing. I got the Best Buy bundle with Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros., Donkey Kong Country Tropical Feeze, and Nintendo Land. I also ordered Mario Kart 8 when it was on sale at Amazon. Just need a pro controller and Bayonetta 2 I will be all be set.
The best ones have already been said, and I'm not sure what's coming up next other than Xenoblade Chronicles X and Mario Party 10 (or the new Zelda game in the DISTANT future). The Wii U is going to be in the same place as every post-SNES Nintendo home console. You get the great first party games, and then let the system collect dust while you do your gaming on your primary platform(s). Unless it's exclusive, getting the Wii U version of a 3rd party game is pointless.
Sonic Boom.
Not unless OP is a massive Sonic fanboy. Rise of Lyric is possibly the worst game in the series since 06.
Also if you have a few extra bucks, the pro controller is great. I actively dislike playing anything with the game pad.
Much of the essential stuff has already been mentioned, so I just wanna remark that the Wii U also plays Wii games. If you didn't have a Wii, I reckon the two Mario Galaxy games still hold up (at least the first one does from what I've played) and there are probably a few other gems. Although you'd have to get a Wiimote with nunchuck to play these games.
