There seems to be a controller shortage?

After coming up short a controller or two for a little Mario Cart action over the weekend I decided to pick up a couple more pro controllers to avoid that problem in the future. I punched up Amazon and they have them listed for $70. Searching the Gamestop and Target websites came up with nothing available online and nothing available in-store locally.

Anybody have any clue what's causing this? You wouldn't think these things would be such hot sellers.

Guessing just demand caught up to supply. They probably are still clearing out stock from initial shipments or close to.
