More games aimed at older audiences. 18%
    More Nintendo franchise games 20%

I've been thinking a bit lately about what would get me to buy the system... I know I'll get it eventually so I can keep up with Mario, Zelda, etc. But it took me 3-4 years before I got

the original Wii and it looks like it might take even longer for me to find a reason to buy

Wii U. At this point I think I'm waiting for another big price cut ($200ish) and I kind of wish Nintendo would put out some kind of more mature game that had the kind of impact that Goldeneye had back on the 64. What about you? What would get you over the fence?

I think if nintendo just made solid games and didn't throw in some gamepad support I'd be happy. Basically until there are games I want to buy I'll hold of.

Honestly, there hasn't been a single killer game for me. It all seems like old hat Nintendo nonsense. If they started grabbing Japanese titles from Sony, then I'll have to give it some thought. I think the "getting a Wii U" boat has sailed for me.

A $50 price drop, a bundle with Wind Waker HD and Hyrule Hystoria, a special gamepad and... oh wait.

Well, that's what got me to get one a few weeks ago anyway. Can't wait for some of the games coming later this year and next year.

The only way I would ever buy a Wii U is if for some impossible reason it's the only platform Fallout 4 or Elder Scrolls 6 comes out on. There is literally nothing else that could convince me to get one.

The price drop wasn't as big as I was hoping but the Wind Waker edition and decent games coming out this holiday season finally got me to bite and buy one for my son.

Unless the next Super Smash Bros Wii U replaces Melee as the main competitive SSB game, I would only pick up the system if it came out under $150 USD.

That price has to go down, and Super Smash needs to be outstanding. $300 for a WiiU is silly: that's the price of the fancy 360 and PS3 which have actual games.

More exclusive games that I care about. Honestly, at this point, Windwaker and Pikmen 3 would be enough if there weren't new consoles coming out in a month.

Why does it need mature games? You probably already own a console that has mature games.

Nintendo just needs to make sure their Nintendo stuff is great and it does kind of look like it is going to be great so I just bought one.

Define "actual games," because unless it's some bizarre definition that the rest of the world doesn't use, the Wii U already has those.

I already bought it at launch for pretty much nothing. I hadn't even turned it on until last night when I played Wind Waker on it. But seriously it was worth it, just for that.

Probably nothing, honestly. The only way I would buy it is if it was under $50 and also had at least one game that was just so incredible I can't bear to miss it. There's approximately 0% chance of that happening, so it's not worth thinking about. I thankfully am not afflicted by the desire to get every new gadget that comes out, so it's been really easy for me to ignore so far.

    ....man that's a bummer....

Looking at those options now, none of them look like something that would make me want to by this system. Maybe when the Nintendo pedigree games roll around, but right now... I'm not feelin' it, even if those Nintendo IP's came out right now.

I usually wait for either a good price drop or a good bundle. There's never really been a game that sold me on a system. Luckily Nintendo dropped the price $50 and packed in a game I was interested in.

So far The Wonderful101 and the Windwaker HD remake are the only games I could see myself picking up for the system. I've kind of fallen out of love with most Nintendo franchises. But if they can land a few more super fascinating third party exclusives (I know that's asking for a lot) then I'll definitely be buying one. Hell, Bayonetta 2 alone might sell me on one.

More games. I'll just pick it up for 2 bucks like I did with all previous Nintendo consoles since the N64. Nintendo is notorious for making people wait, and I don't want to own a console that won't have enough good games for a while.

I have resigned myself to getting a Wii U at some point during its lifespan, but not until there are more than like 3 games I want to play on it. I still have no idea what the hell Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem is going to be, but however it ends up will probably be crazy. Another price drop wouldn't hurt either.

Just waiting on a price drop, really. I mean it's inevitable that I'm going to own one, I simply cannot miss out on the exclusive games, same with any console that comes out. There are already around 6-7 games that I really want to play on the system, and if I had enough disposable income I would already have one. However, as things stand I still need another price drop to justify spending that amount of money on a games system these days :(

If you don't care about Nintendo games there is really no reason to buy one anymore. 3rd party support will end completly in 2014 and then Nintendo is on their own.

Own it. Slowly becoming an investment I don't regret, very much in the way the Vita is, as the library grows a little. Pikmin was worth it, Wind Waker, Wonderful 101, Zombi U and Rayman were all great, and I'm looking forward to Bayonetta and the other Nintendo first party stuff. It's not the choice for your first system, maybe not even your second, but if you're into playing everything, it's slowly becoming a thing you may want to have at some point.

I wouldn't phrase it exactly like that. Games that don't need to be accessible to "impressionable" children and don't need to have cartoon graphics. Those games are fine in moderation, but I want more from Nintendo. Also, I find it a bit sad that Zelda has gotten much lighter in its atmosphere since the N64.

First off. I need more disposable income. No matter how much I want to buy one, its hard when I can't. That said however, the Wii U doesn't have nearly enough games to pull it's own weight yet. Outside of Wonderful 101, I only see Bayonetta on the horizon, and nothing much else. If I was shitting money, those two are a given system seller. But I don't, so poor Nintendo doesn't get a sell.

I was going through the list, looking at the options. Price is not really an issue for me but none of the games look appealing, and I can't imagine what would be so awesome it would get me to buy a whole console. In the end I had to select the "I will never buy a Wii U" option. I think I hadn't actually formalized that idea to myself before now.

    Sorry Nintendo.

I'm not opposed to the all the touchscreen business, seems like a lot of potential for cool things there but with that being said, I love the thought of playing a new Zelda, Mario or Donkey Kong game on a standard controller again someday. I was actually talking to a friend about this yesterday and I said (sadly) that if they could at least build a library as decent as the underwhelming Gamecube I might start considering it

I hope Nintendo can turn things around but from where I sit things aren't looking pretty. While XBox, Playstation and PC battle it out, releasing more games than I have time Nintendo continues to sit back repeating "Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong" over and over to themselves while I sit here repeating "That's not enough" over and over. (though that new Mario does look like, wow)

The biggest thing for me would more games that I want to play. Right now there's really only a few I'm interested in.
