Bayonetta 2 was just announced as a Wii Exclusive (on the EU stream)
Wii U
Platform »
The Nintendo Wii U, the follow-up to the monstrously popular Nintendo Wii console, launched in North America on November 18th 2012.
Wii U Arrives in United States on November 18
They just announced Bayonetta 2 exclusively for WiiU. Congrats Nintendo you made someone who was actively shitting on the WiiU since it's announcement to buying one day 1.
@msavo: Maybe you should hold off on buying a console for a single game if before that one single game was announced you were actively shitting on the console. Like maybe at least until you see some actual gameplay footage or get a release date and not just cause they had a 10 second trailer where you see her gunboot for like 8 seconds?

I won't be surprised if this is Nintendo's last console. I just don't see this thing doing anything but failing miserably (unfortunately).
Well, it's clear that their best games are on their handhelds nowadays, so it's hard to say it'd be much of a loss.
Other than Super Mario Galaxy, yes I'm with you. The best Zelda games since Wind Waker have all been the handheld ones. The others were severely disappointing from a Zelda standpoint.

Wait, the standard version doesn't come with a charging cable for the gamepad? How are you supposed to charge it then?
Changing the batteries, I'd imagine. The Xbox didn't come with one either, which I remember being very unhappy about.
Makes me wonder if Nintendo coult court more third party support if they would also publish third party games ala Bayonetta 2.

RIP Nintendo
I swear regardless of the amount of launches I see in my life, someone says this (also whilst disregarding how much the company has made in the last few years and the impact it's had).

Seriously? Bayonetta is the thing that makes people going from "I dont give a shit" to " OMG DAY ONE" ? Really?
Bayonetta has a strong following and if i wasn't already buying it and was on the fence, this would of sold me. But i could say the same thing about Halo, I don't care for it and wouldn't buy a console for it but millions do. And yeah Bayonetta isn't as huge but it does have it's followers.

@sirdesmond: I really hope this is Nintendo's last console, it's time for them to do a Sega.
Minus the whole...everything they make being steaming garbage part. I'm with you.
I was hoping to see some games, but all they showed was a bunch of new Game Cube quality games. sigh
So Bayonetta 2 won't be made by Kamiya apparently? hmm. Also couldn't Nintendo publishing it mean they might tone down some of the more extreme elements of Bayonetta? (especially the sexuality)

I know everyone's always cynical in the comments, but is anyone else kind of excited for it? I think it has potential...
...then again, I said that for the Wii...
I am beyond excited but unlike the Wii this thing actually has quite a few games i am interested in at launch. Monster Hunter, Zombie-U, Bayonetta 2, Nintendo Land (yes i enjoyed what i played at E3), New Mario and Pikmin i am all pumped for. And all these are what? Within launch window?

I seem to have gone from feeling like it will be a huge failure to being somewhat excited. I'm not really sure why, though.

Mainly because it's a exclusive. If it wasn't one, I wouldn't really care much and probably buy it for another console. Exclusives are what sells consoles. I'm sure there are other reasons, other than Bayonetta 2 for buying the WiiU day one.

I did not want to shit on the game. I just cant get the mentality that makes people spend 300 - 350 dollars because of a single game. And most of the commenters were not even on the fence they did not have any interest at all. And to go from 0 interest to " I will buy one at launch" because of a single game is baffling to me.
I would have said the same if it was Halo.

What is at launch?

Do you still have your GBA Link Cable? I hope so. ;)
Anyway, unless they really blow something out of the water, I think I will wait a few years for a price drop. My Wii has been pretty reliable this gen (definitely more than my Xbox 360), but I think my experience with the 360 breaking has soured me on buying launch hardware.
Launch titles: a bunch of more shovelware that you found on the Wii, sports games, some probably pretty well done and some enhanced ports of already existing games if you haven't them so that's cool, and like 3 exclusives worth maybe caring about.
