How will Nintendo make another Mario that will beat Galaxy? I mean in galaxy Mario was in space with all those crazy gravity gameplay. So will Mario be back in mushroom kingdom in the next game? Or something completely different? I was actually thinking about time-travel...

The Nintendo Wii is a home video game console released on November 19, 2006. The Wii's main selling point was the innovative use of motion controls that its signature Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers allowed for. It became the best selling home console of its respective generation of hardware.
How will they beat Galaxy?
I was actually thinking about time-travel...That is not a bad idea! Time travel can get quite complex, though. Lots of paradoxes. Might not appeal to the casual crowd Nintendo is determined to woo. Sigh. But they could keep it simple and just use it to give each level a different theme rather than tangling up the time lines with complex puzzles.
I think they need to make a 2.5D mario platformer. But push the visuals into a more graphic style. When I played Viewtiful Joe, my first comment was they need to make a Mario game look like this.
I wasn't a big fan of Super Mario Galaxy. Or Metroid Prime 3, to be honest. So I don't think it will take much to "beat Galaxy." I am liking Okami a lot, though. It's really fun so far.
Note: That idea is not mine, I'm just sharing it. I figured it would be awesome and would sell more than Little Big Planet.
Only it shouldn't be called Super Mario Planet. How about Super Mario Universe.
a mario with some awesome controls
thats all i would ask for a 3D mario...
well, it should also ve fun ^^ maybe, they can make it with a level or 2 in the style of galaxy, and you can be in mushroom kingdom and other places too would be real good, and with some minigames its really keep the casual and hardcore people playing XD
yup, OR a new 2d mario game looking like super mario bros... daaamn right
I think either a totally new setting or a revamped classic setting and I want to get rid of the lives system which would allow for more challanging puzzels. Thats about it really, other than that I will let the developers decide what to do.
I think the next Mario game will be a direct sequel to Galaxy, so I guess it won't surpass it. It will still be awesome though.
I think Nintendo has their ideas. I read in a couple interviews that Nintendo is ALWAYS working on Mario, Zelda, etc.
I remember I read somewhere that they were working on the gravity ideas since Mario 64 came out. Apparently they were using that game's engine to test some things.
Nintendo did no wrongs with Super Mario Galaxy, and I think in order to top it they'll have to introduce a new gameplay mechanic that changes the way gamers play Mario.
In Galaxy that was Gravity, and the addition of new and radically different worlds that challenged the gamers to think in a new way.
Sure, time travel is possible, but how would that fit into the world?
That being said Mario is a franchise that can do practically anything, except adult content, and I suppose Miyamoto could always find a way to add it in.
"How will Nintendo make another Mario that will beat Galaxy? I mean in galaxy Mario was in space with all those crazy gravity gameplay. So will Mario be back in mushroom kingdom in the next game? Time travel is a good start.
"Twilight said:Benn time traveling already, try Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time ;]"How will Nintendo make another Mario that will beat Galaxy? We will probably see the full Mushroom Kingdom in full 3D
"If they made it less linear.
"
I loved the fact that Galaxy was linear because it added to the whole old-school feeling of the game. But making it less linear would be awesome!
I'm still waiting for Super Mario Bros. 4. No, Super Mario World was not Super Mario Bros. 4 and neither was New Super Mario Bros. Like I've said before, you have WiiWare, do something with it. I really hope Mega Man 9 sells crazily and Nintendo notices. Then again I don't know why I have hope for anything Nintendo anymore. So sad.
"Dark_Link142 said:Less linear as in Super Mario 64 like, as in you can find any of the stars at once?"If they made it less linear.

It is gonna be very difficult because it had such awesome music as well as awesome power ups and level design.
Time travelling on a Mario game has already been done...so it's probably a return to the roots. And I'm not talking about Mario 128 or 256, but Super Mario Bros...4? And a much higher level of difficulty. Todays' Mario games are way too easy when compared to the 80s' and 90s'.
I didn't think Super Mario 64 would be beaten by Super Mario Galaxy but it did and it is gonna take a big effort to topple that game but if anybody can do it. Miyamoto and his team can. Add online to the next game for stages like 100 coins races or other types of races in Mario games then who knows we could have a Galaxy beater.
I thought Galaxy was pretty average overall. I still don't understand the hype and definitely think it's one of the most overrated games I can think of. I personally prefer Super Mario Sunshine, which is not without its flaws but it does a lot of things right. I find it amusing how nearly all of the Nintendo fans (even many review sites) were totally in love with Super Mario Sunshine, and then they all turned against it and bashed it once Mario Galaxy came around. Anyway, I enjoyed the whole vacation setting of Sunshine, but now I think it's time for Mario to get back to work. How about a Super Mario Bros. 4? It doesn't have to be 2D, but I'd definitely like to see more key-players involved. Bring back the Koopa Kids, have Waluigi and Wario wrecking some havoc, you know? There were only like 4 different bosses in Galaxy, a few of which you fought several times. I think the next Mario needs more castles, more tanks, more mayhem.
Whatever they do next, it will have to use the newest Wii peripherals, because that is pretty much what Nintendo does now. So, I'd expect a lot more physical movement with the Motion Plus and a few Balance Board segments.
Have they done Light vs. Dark world yet in a Mario game? I know Nintendo does that eventually with every one of their franchises.
I don't know what is next for the Mario platformers after Galaxy but I am excited and can't wait to find out.
