Two new Famitsu scans show the new game Kizuna. Game will be an action RPG that will be released Winter of 2008

- Main Character name is Lian
- There's a king call Jared and a princess call Aina
- Game's graphic will have a pencil effect to them
- More than 100 quests
- Accumulated gauge techniques can be used.
- Huge bosses, find the weak point by pointing the Wii remote on screen (Shadow of the Colossus?)
- Scenario: Miwa Shouda (FFXII, Saga Frontier, Little King's Story)
- Director/Programmer: Youichi Kawaguchi (DQVIII, Little King's Story)

Now that makes it sound more awesome. I'm always up for games with a neat little art style.

Need higher rez and more aligned scans, can barely see anything, though what I see looks nicely designed. I hope it lives up to the games its inspired by.

Looks dope, just hope it can do something for the Wii's hardcore side.

I don't like RPGs so much.

Don't think traditional RPG like Final Fantasy, it's closer to Zelda and Shadow of the Colossus, action oriented.

Looks good but Im not really a fan of RPG so I don't think Im gonna get this.

It looks like it's cel-shaded and from what I can see from the pictures, it looks pretty good. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

looks good, Wii needs more rpgs for the rpg fans, I'm one of them but I'm rpg'd out right now.

Don't worry, several are coming. Opoona is already pretty good if you can get past its quirkyness, as is My Life as a King, Fire Emblem and Chocobo's Dungeon but we'll soon(ish) have Tales of Symphonia 2, Rune Factory Frontier, Kizuna, Shiren the Wanderer 3, Little King Story, Crystal Bearers, Fragile, and more I probably forget. Yes, some of these are crossing genres, but they'll certainly offer RPG-esque goodness also.

Also, if you didn't have a GameCube you MUST get Skies of Arcadia Legends, Paper Mario,  and the Baten Kaitos games, Tales of Symphonia 1, Fire Emblem and a few others.

I think it has enough for RPG fans and it'll most probably get a lot more. Monster Hunter 3 should be awesome, I hope we'll see more of it soon.

It's looking good but I really want to see it in motion to appreciate the pencil effect. It looks very similar to Valkyria Chronicles' pencil effect.
Kudos to Sega for doing it.

Wow, I am digging the visual style. I love games that do this kind of thing with their visuals.

After this years disappointing E3 one can only hope this RPG will turn out to be good.

No, we really mean a pencil-esque filter, cel shading should in and on itself be the wrong term for games that look cartoony but either way this game's look is certainly different to something like the Wind Waker's which does try to emulate cel shading. This one tries to emulate the sketchy pencil look, hence all those lines you see making the screenshots look grainy, as opposed to mere cartoony shadowing seen in other titles. I really can't wait to see it in motion...
