The Nintendo Wii is a home video game console released on November 19, 2006. The Wii's main selling point was the innovative use of motion controls that its signature Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers allowed for. It became the best selling home console of its respective generation of hardware.

Seeing that RE4 was released for the cube only and then having been ported to the Wii, with Wii remote mechanics being developed. Plus The fact that is was so succesful from a critical stand point . Do you think RE5 deserves a place on the WII?.

Yeah, RE5 should be on the Wii!

However, having seen early movies of gameplay, I have a feeling that RE5 will not be on the Wii for technical reasons.

It will be on the wii, capcom is porting dead rising to the wii with lesser graphics and less zombies so RE5 should be just as easy to port over.
Besides, im sure capcom would enjoy the extra revenue.

The reason why RE4 came out for both the PS2 and Gamecube was because they didn't have such a large gap in between what the machines could do technically. Now the gap is bigger than ever when comparing what the 360/PS3 to Wii can do. They're releasing a remake of Dead Rising on Wii, but they won't be able to fit as many Zombies on screen, taking away the camera, and I'm sure the visuals will not be as sharp. The wii is more powerful than the Gamecube, but the current gen consoles are many times more powerful than their predecessors. This is why if RE5 did come out on Wii, it really would have a lot taken away from it.

Dead Rising already had very PS2/Xbox like graphics as it was, since it was only a Launch Title of rthe 360,so I doubt they had to do much. RE5 is a graphically impressive game. I really don't see the same thing  happening,at least for a year or so after release.

I do believe it could be possible if they port it down to the RE4 engine like they're doing with dead rising.  It wouldn't look as good, but it would benefit greatly from the controls.

Great question, let me think... Hm... I'm coming up with a big "no."

If Dead Rising is coming to the Wii, I won't find it hard to believe Capcom making a Wii version of RE5. What makes RE5 set apart from RE4 is the graphics though... The game mechanics look the same to me in 5.

I really enjoyed RE 4 on the Wii and think it was the best out of all the releases.

And since Capcom is giving the Wii crazy port support, I could see it on the Wii maybe a year or two after it launces for PS3 and 360.

Dead Rising was greatly lowered in content and graphics for the Wii.I don't think Capcom will bother taking so much out again for the Wii.There is no point to doing that at all.I think they only put Dead Rising on the Wii because you would be able to interact with the weapons with the Wiimote.

Not only on the wii, RE4 was ported to the ps2, wii, pc and cellphones. Lost planet was ported to the PS3 and the PC. Capcom is slowly becoming the new Square-Enix

It is possible because the two Resident Evil games released for the Wii did quite well. Especially when you consider the fact that many RE fans skipped Umbrella Chronicles. However, as a poster above said, I wouldn`t hold my breath.

They ported Resi 4 to mobile phones.

Graphics is no excuse as to why they wouldn't bring Resi 5 to the Wii.

it should be since the gameplay doesn't look like it evolved much and fit the wii very well. there would of course be a graphical downgrade but a game that looks even slightly better than RE4 would still be quite playable.

Assuming it truly isn't much more than another RE4, I would hope they'd downgrade the graphics and put it over on the Wii. I would be concerned, though, if they had to change actual gameplay to do it.

It wouldnt be the same game. Face it the wii is way too under powered. All the textures and polygons would have to be dumbed down as well as the lighting and shaders. It would be a lot of work. I dont think Dead rising was the same caliber of development that the RE5 serries has.

Yeah, I'd love to see it on the Wii as well, and I'd probably buy both the 360 or PS3 version and the Wii version if they did it. I really liked what motion controls added to RE4. There were moments I couldn't shoot straight because my hand was shaking so damn bad, and the game's control scheme was simple enough to still work just fine on the Wii.

I realize the art assets used in development would be useless on something as underpowered as the Wii. However, I'd be willing to accept worse graphics (as long as we're still talking RE4 quality, mind you) as long as actual gameplay - number of enemies on-screen, etc. - was the same.

Its still hard to say if Capcom would really devote the resources needed. They may rational that its too expensive to gut the game so it works on wii when people could buy an xbox 360 or PS3 if they really had to play it. My guess is they wont, and would rather spend the money developing a RE title exclusive to the wii.

Remember everyone, we may not get RE5, we do get Spyborgs, and I'm not kidding that that's a fair trade. A new IP with acclaimed developers beats a (mostly) rehashed action game with bad dialogue.

There is probably more of a chance for a spin-off RE game.
