An obscure handheld first-person shooter for the Game Boy Advance, set in an overrun top-secret training facility.
Dark Arena is a sci-fi first-person shooter developed by Graphic State Games and published by Majesco for the Game Boy Advance in North America on January 18, 2002. It was later published by THQ in Europe on February 15, 2002.
A traditional first-person shooter in the style of Doom, Dark Arena takes place in future 2146 inside the United Arms Organization top-secret training facility "Dark Arena". When Genetically Engineered Organisms (GEOs) used for training break free and overrun the facility, players attempt to control the situation as special ops leader Angelina Bradshaw.
Along with a 15-level single-player campaign, the game supports linked multiplayer, with deathmatch for up to four players at a time. It later received an emulated PC release, published digitally by Piko Interactive on October 30, 2024.
