Overview

Guacamelee! 2 is a "metroidvania" platformer-brawler and the follow-up to the original Guacamelee!. It was first released on PS4 and PC in August 2018, with versions for Switch (December) and Xbox One (January 2019) coming later. The player, as Juan Aguacate, uses wrestling moves and special luchador abilities to fight enemies and progress through areas, occasionally backtracking with new skills to unlock new routes and collectibles/power-ups. The game also includes a co-operative mode for up to four players, as well as the standard solo mode.

After several years of inactivity, the heroic luchador Juan Aguacate has fallen out of shape and forgotten most of his abilities. He is forced back into action with the discovery that an alternative timeline - in which Juan was slain and a different luchador, Salvador, defeated the evil Carlos Calaca - is now threatening to destabilize all other timelines. Juan once again joins forces with Tostada, the Guardian of the Mask, to recover his former strength and prevent the "darkest" timeline from destroying the rest.
