    Overview

William Shatner's TekWar is a sci-fi first-person shooter developed by Capstone and published by IntraCorp (U.S. Gold in Europe) for MS-DOS PCs on October 1995.

A video game adaptation of the TekWar series of novels by actor William Shatner (as well the television adaptation), TekWar takes place in futuristic 2044 where the player is awakened from cryo-detainment by the private security company Cosmos (led by Walter Bascom, portrayed in full-motion video cutscenes by Shatner himself) in order to hunt down high-profile drug dealers ("TekLords", pushing an illicit cybernetic drug known as "Tek") in Greater Los Angeles and prevent a massive broadcast of "Tek" into cyberspace (the "Matrix").

Utilizing the Build Engine, the game is known for its use of digitized actors, a hub-based level system (where each level is interconnected through a subway system), and innocent NPCs (civilians and policemen, both of which react differently when the player arms themself and requiring the player to holster their weapon at-will to not gain attention). It also features a cyberspace level that can be accessed between missions (which is required for completing the game).
