    Overview

Winning Post is a Japan-only release that marked the beginning of Koei's long running Winning Post series. While initially only released for the Sharp X68000, it was later released on the Sega Mega-CD, 3DO, NEC PC-9801, Super Famicom and Game Boy Advance.

The goal is to take a stable of horses, hire professional jockeys to ride them and raise money from winning and betting on races. Winning Post is a very dense management game, like much of Koei's early output.

This is the Japan-only first title of the Winning Post series released in 1993. For the 1996 North American title of the same name, which was actually the second in the series, see Winning Post.
