I've read and heard about how Wipeout HD has had updates which put in, took out, and then again put in advertising in the loading screens before every race. I bought the disc version a while back and I don't remember ever seeing adverts at all. Could this be because this was the disc version and not bought from PSN?
 
It would be great to clear this up, so if you have the game, please reply below with your version (disc or PSN) and country/region (disc version is only available in PAL countries BTW)

I have neither - thinking of getting it soon actually, but I would think it had been patched out before the game got a retail disc release.

I own it both physically and digitally and I've never seen ads. I think only the US got shafted on that.

I don't mind the ads... as long as they're for some energy drink like how there used to be Redbull ads in the first one.

Yeah, ads aren't so bad, really.  If anything, it helps pay for their servers.
