Sure, these days have almost every game sporting the newfangled 3D, but way back when, everyone had to live with plain old 2D. 2D, or two dimensions, limit the game to scrolling backgrounds, but some games even now make use of this basic concept.
An abomination is either the result of a demon possessing a living human or elf, or a undead flesh construct made from corpses sewn together.
Extraterrestrials appear in many video games in a variety of styles. Sometimes they're evil, sometimes they're benevolent, and sometimes they're very similar to humans.

Bosses are enemies that fight you at the end of a level or at a significant point in the story.

All the enemies in the game show up in the credits, sometimes before the people who made the game.
Any weapon that shoots laser and plasma beams or energy bolts rather than conventional bullets.

Options menus give you the option to change anything the game lets you change. Whether you want subtitles or not, sound effects or not, the game to be harder or not, anything you want that the game lets you change, you can change in the options menu.
