Next month, confirmed by Major Nelson himself, XBLA games will have the option to put achievement points caps of 400 instead of 200 and the games can feature up to 30 achievements in place of the usual 12. By June, every XBLA game will be required to have the 400 achievement points.

This is great! I wonder if this will apply to Windows Phone games as well, I'm assuming it will.

So will it be easier to get a few more quick points from a game?  It seems like arcade games won't get any larger or expansive....  Well, I guess I won't complain about that!

Why does this matter? I never understood why people care so much about these things...

Yeah I have no problem with it. I'm just saying the norm of most major downloadable games across platforms being $15 will change soon like it did with $10 to $15.

Some games on there honestly deserve it. As much as I detest the ending to I Am Alive, and didn't really enjoy it, I can see it from the perspective of a professional (mechanics and content wise) and see it's a very well made XBLA game. I just remember the hell that forums felt when the 1,200MSP was the new 800 and I don't look forward to it again; Even though they are completely worth the asking price half the time.

@ccampb89 The only problem I see with prices increasing on downloadable games is more valid comparisons to full retail games. When a downloadable game is going to be charging 1/3 the price of a retail game it better be damn good enough to stand up to those comparisons.
