Hey there. I've had a PS3 for almost 2 years and love it. But I was thinking a 360 would be cool so I could get some of those exclusives. What I wanted to know is if the Jasper units have had any problems with RROD. I have been looking into it (google) but I haven't found much. Still, I get paranoid so if anyone here has had the unit for a while with no problems, please let me know. Thanks for any info you might be able to give.

I don't know anyone with a system from 2009 and up which have broken. And even if you get one now, you'll be guaranteed until  2013 because of the 3 year warranty. That only if it breaks, too.

As for RRoD, I have no idea. My release console never had any issues but I sold it because I didn't trust it. Ironically, my release-day Elite then proceeded to RRoD twice and have the disc drive die (out of warranty, had to pay for that shit) :( 
 
Hopefully current ones are more reliable.

Sounds like the Jasper units are pretty solid. I'll probably pick one up when my launch 360 finally dies. (It's inevitable.) 
 
If you're not in a huge hurry, there are the rumors about a new smaller 360 coming later this year, possibly with Natal packed in. If that's real, we'll probably see an announcement at E3, so maybe wait till the show and see if the new revision (if it exists) is worth holding out for.

get it !! yeah, there might be problems but they are less of a problem compared to when the 360 first came out. i haven't heard any problems with the jasper. 
 
you should wait until E3 to find out about this slim 360. it's been a rumor for a while but it's a rumor so it might not actually be true.

slightly OT, but as of about 3 months ago MS still hasn't been replacing the RROD 360s with Jasper 360s. it's stupid really.

They are due for a mobo revision very soon, keep an eye on E3 for a new SKU.

they never replace your 360 with newer motherboards. NEVER. people should stop having unrealistic expectations. "

I know someone that has one of the first Jasper units and has yet to have any problems, so, I say go for it, unless you want to wait for Valhalla.

There have been no reports of Jaspers RRODing. I have a Jasper and it runs quiet and cool. I love it.

With a 3 year-warranty covering you, any repairs will be covered during that period. Just don't be a jerk and mod the 360 so you can play pirated games...unless you want your warranty voided.
